The college outbreak

Image
In the past few days there has been a massive breakout all over the US and there has been very bad outbreaks especially in SoCal at colleges such as UCLA and SCU. The college outbreak was huge and over 1000 people including students and staff were potentially exposed to the virus and were asked to be quarantined and refrain from contact with others. The numbers also show that 2/3 of the universities were quarantined. Many are being cleared after showing immunity to the disease due to prior vaccinations, which brings attention to the debate on whether people should be required to get vaccinated before entering school. Many debate against having their children being vaccinated before school due to religion or other personal or health reasons, but this puts their child at a higher risk of getting this disease, and also other kids as their kids may if infected transmit the disease to others. Personally I think that all of the kids should get the vaccination for health and safety reasons

Gum is the ticket to Love

Image
This is one of the most memorable adds I have ever seen, its something that if I even mention it to my friends they would know what I am talking about, yes I am talking about this add for gum. This add is mainly memorable due to the fact that it was splayed so much as a commercial on TV or while we were watching YouTube, so there was absolutely no "not seeing it". This commercial was one of the most notorious commercial I can recall that uses the Lover Marks marketing technique, and for none other than mint gum. But I don't completely understand is why the company chose to market their gum as a Love Marker? Whenever I see this commercial it makes me wonder as to how gum relates to lover at all? It makes me question whether the company had just went out on a limb and decided : lets try and make gum romantic. But the way they used Love marks in their commercial was actually in my opinion very clever since they were able to intertwine their gum in a cute way that was a

The Billion Dollar Debate

Image
4/22 The story that swept the news, the burning of the Notre Dame in Paris, had only its roof and a single stained glass window destroyed. even though it may seem I am taking this lightly, you are incorrect. Of course I am completely aware that a very important historical building had been slightly destroyed and that that part of history (roof and window) may not be here it is not the end of the world. But it did sure seem like it was the end of the world to many people as in under a week one billion dollars was donated to the reconstruction of the historic building. Though it is a very important building and that it most likely if not definitely has some sort of sentimental value to the people of Paris if not many more. Though the large donation of money for the cathedrals reconstruction is very important and crucial to many, a huge debated uprawed on social media as many have come to the quick realization that billionaires and millionaires had just donated collectively at least a

what will be next?

4/22 I'm starting off this blog post by saying that whatever I talk about is going to be an issue apart of the American media and though not everyone will be aware of the topic I am addressing, it does have a part in the American society. So for the past two weekends the Coachella festival had taken place and this year it was hyped up more than ever, with an amazing artist lineups that I could only wish to see. But if you know me I would only be excited to see BlackPink, everyone probably is thinking "Ok Lauren stop talking about that stuff" and rolling their eyes at what I am about to write about because they don't have the same interests as I do but at this point I don't care, think what you want. But others may not think that at all and will keep reading this post. But as I was saying, I was beyond excited to find out that BlackPink was going to perform at Coachella (and it was amazing by the way I highly recomened you go check it out), but many others would

How stupid my relationship with the media is

Image
I can say, probably alongside many others, that the relationship I have with media is not the greatest, and now that I am really thinking about how the media has affected my life I have come to the conclusion that its just stupid how I let the media affect my life. Since the media surrounds us in almost everyway possible, it very easy for our generation to be influenced by the media whether its in a positive or negative way. Personally the media has both positive and negative affects on me, platforms like Instagram, snapchat, and YouTube are the main platforms I go on. I use all of them as a form of entertainment, I can scroll through my feed of cute animal videos or pictures, or watch YouTube videos, and keep in touch with friends. But through these platforms I also am exposed to what other people are posting, and seeing other people's lives or what they do or where they go. By seeing the things others were doing I just always thought it would be cool to be them or do what they d
